Destination: HAITI

God has been challenging us as a couple in so many ways.  We are learning that God's ways and thoughts are higher than our own...and we wouldn't want to have it any other way!  We have many "possible" short-term trips on our radar to lead, and we are praying about those and that we walk through the right doors.

One door that has swung wide open is a trip that I (Kathryn) will be taking in just a couple of weeks to Haiti.  A woman who volunteers her time at Heaven Sent has had a desire to go to Haiti since the devastation of the earthquake. Every time she walked through our doors, Haiti was on her heart and lips.  I remembered that over two decades ago, almost 26 years to be exact, my parents went on a mission trip to Haiti. The missionaries they served with are still going strong and bringing the Gospel to Haiti. My parents have stayed in contact with them and provided their names and phone number for me.

Picture from the B.E.M., Hope for Haiti website of the area
where we will be serving.

To make a long story short....we will be going to serve with these missionaries, Pastor Ignace and his wife Franchette in Les Cayes, Haiti. If you know my age, and did the math from the amount of years provided above...you may put 2 and 2 together and figure out that my mother was pregnant with me when she was in Haiti!!  How special of a trip this will be for me. It's almost if things are coming full-circle for me in the missions world...or maybe it's just God's little gift to me to be able to go where my earthly parents once walked with me...while my mom carried me along for the ride in the womb.

What and amazing God we serve!

After 7 days with Bethanie Evangelical Mission, we will travel back to Port Au Prince and be picked up by another missionary couple who we will serve with another 6 days or so. We will be visiting many different ministries in order to establish relationships and send teams there in Haiti in the near future. Although this will be an amazing mission trip where we will bring Hope to different areas of Haiti, this is also very much a vision trip; a goal of establishing a long term relationship in order to keep bringing the Gospel to this country.

Missions trip to Peru

Many of you may know that Peru is very near and dear to my heart. I have been on 5 mission trips to peru, the longest being 7 months.  Peru is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people.

We are currently seeking people to join our team to head to Peru January 22-31. This trip is mainly a medical trip, but we will also be doing some evangelism, visiting the orphanages and feeding centers.  I personally and not a doctor, so I will be spending a lot of time ministering among the children and their families.  So, if you are not medically inclined....don't worry!  There is still plenty to do!

I thought I would share some photos of beautiful Arequipa, peru where we will be working. Arequipa is a gorgeous city nestled at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. You will also catch gorgeous views of Misti, the well-known volcano in Arequipa.

The above photo is a picture of the main plaza in Arequipa. There you will be able to shop on our day of sight-seeing.

This is a typical Peruvian (Quechuan) mother and child that you will meet in the pueblos where we will be working.

This is Misti, a volcano in Arequipa.  You will see this volcano from wherever you are in the city or pueblos. Misti is truly a breath-taking sight!!!

Team has returned from Ghana!

Our team from New Community Bible made it back safely from Ghana, West Africa and their trip was amazing!  They sent us several pictures and it made me so eager to go!  The team consisted of medical professionals, the pastor and his wife and other members of their church.

Working on some construction at the Training Center

The Discipleship Training Center. It took 7 years to complete,
but it is finished and completely debt free!
Painting the gates to the Training Center

The team also hosted some Pastor Meetings and brought words of
encouragement and hope to the leaders and pastors in the surrounding areas.

We are so thankful for their hearts and willingness to serve in Ghana, West Africa. Thank you for all of your
prayer support for this team. I am looking to plan a trip in October/November of this
year to complete the painting and tiling needed inside of the center.
Please pray about being a part of this trip!

Keep us in your prayers. If you would like to know more about us, please e-mail us at
